Stories Across the Web
The place to track down stories of mine that have appeared elsewhere on the Internet.
Hub Magazine- fiction, reviews and other cool stuff periodically stuffed inside your inbox like a festive hamper full of really good cheese and a box of Quality Street with all the shit ones taken out. I am very pleased to have had two stories featured in Hub, and you can find links to them below.
The Sea, The Sea, The Sea A somewhat gruesome short story inspired by holidays on the south east coast of England, although I'm sure the waters of Folkestone are much less perilous
Jump A story about how love can sometimes make you do silly things. Also, frogs.
Dark Fiction Magazine- A new audio project from a couple of very froody people, Del Lakin-Smith and Sharon Ring. Dark Fiction Magazine brings you excellent genre fiction to place gently in your ears and stimulate the story centres of your brain, and I am well chuffed to have been both narrator and writer on more than one episode.
On the Last Wave Post apocalyptic fiction in Dystopian Desires, from the second episode of Dark Fiction Magazine.
Milk Inspired by the Twelve Days of Christmas, DFM's ghostly festive anthology features some great spooky stories, and I'm very happy to say mine is the first on the list. I am especially over the moon with the narration of this, by the lovely and talented Kim Lakin-Smith.
Un:Bound- a blog crammed full of genre loveliness, I was lucky enough to have one of my favourite short stories pop up on their regular Writer Wednesday feature.
Barleycorn If I was pretending to be clever, I might say that this story is a bit of magical realism, but let's face it, no one's going to believe me being clever. I will say that this is one of the stories I still enjoy reading, and was partly inspired by a summer spent with a friend who lived in the countryside.
Pantechnicon isn't around anymore sadly, but it keeps a special place in my heart as the first place that accepted one of my stories. Archives of the magazine are still in existence.
London Stone Set in Victorian London, a story about history and promises kept. For me this was one of those rare writing experiences where the entire story came out in one frenzied afternoon of scribbling, and I still think it's one of my best.
Archived Fiction And an oldie that doesn't fit anywhere else-
Lights Unpleasant happenings in a caravan site.
